On Monday, December 12th, a convocation that was meant to be a Leader In Me celebration soon turned into a surprise for everyone.

While all of Cloverdale Community Schools gathered in the high school gym, it was soon realized that this was not a celebration of Leader In Me, but a celebration of two very special students and their achievements.

Cloverdale Community Schools had gathered to honor and surprise Carson Hall and Emma Paauwe for receiving the 2023 Lilly Scholarship winners. Emma Paauwe was announced as the 2023 Owen County Winner, and Carson Hall was announced as the 2023 Putnam County Winner! They were also both named Cloverdale High School’s Student of the Year. These are outstanding achievements that deserve to be celebrated!

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is a program to receive full tuition, fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for books and equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis, leading to a baccalaureate degree at an accredited Indiana public or private college or university.

Congratulations to Emma and Carson! We are so proud of you!
