For the Spring and Summer sessions, we are excited to announce some new additions to the Citizen One Team!
We kicked off the Spring / Summer program with eight new students last Wednesday, where each student journalist got a Citizen One Welcome Kit (see below).
Special thanks to our Bureau Chief Ms. Skiles, and the rest of the student journalists for helping get the program to where it is today! We have learned so much from these students since launching the pilot program in October of ’21. Over the last six months, these students have been instrumental in developing the Citizen One pilot program, and we look forward to their continued contributions:
Alayna Oberkrom, Riley Bates, Andrea Nees, Chris Benitez, Emma Paauwe, Evan Scott, Jonathan Hammack, Landyn Shaw, Savannah Hubble, Sierra Kelley, Tabiah Foster, and Veronica Carter all helped out with Citizen One. Special recognition and high-fives to our most prolific authors in the pilot program, Savannah Hubble (5 stories), Sierra Kelley (6 stories), Evan Scott (8 stories), Andrea Nees (9 stories) and Emma Paauwe (11 stories). We are so proud of our founding team of student journalists!
Joining the team this Spring and Summer will be new student journalists Lillie Jones, Timmy Hiatt, Tori Stanfield, Kaitlen Kerr, Kalen Chaplin, Dominic Nowling-Williams, Ryleigh Secrest, Aleah Harris, Lili Lamb, and Molly Havenor. Welcome to Bureau One / Cloverdale, we are looking forward to seeing your first stories on Citizen One!
We are always looking for new story tellers – if you know a Cloverdale student in grades 9-12 who would like to participate in the program, please have them contact Ms. Skiles at the high school. There is no cost to participate, and each student is provided a Mobile Journalism kit, as well as training and experience in journalism, media, and media literacy.
