Valentine’s Day, while it has its redeeming qualities, can lead to extreme gift giving anxiety. The expectations are high and so are the stakes. It can be tricky to find good gifts in such a small town, and this stress is increased when you wait until the last minute (as people often do), but you don’t have to worry because we have tons of great gift options right in our backyard. From the classics to unique small town goods, you can surely find something your partner will love.
1: Take advantage of your local small businesses
While Cloverdale isn’t exactly swimming in trendy stores, there are still some great shops. For example, New Moon Divination is perfect for any crystal lovers. You can get your partner cute jewelry, incense, candles, tarot cards, and more. You can also look into some of the nearby boutiques to find nice clothing that your partner will love. While the pickings seem slim, there are a variety of different products in the stores throughout town and you can surely find a gift for your special someone.
2: Plan a Date
Sometimes the best gift is someone’s company. Whether this is over food, arcade games, bowling, or any other general date activity. Greencastle has several different restaurants and date locations. Even Cloverdale contains some local restaurants. Treating your companion to dinner or a movie isn’t out of the question just because you live in a small town. You might have to do some extra work to do the big grand gesture, but if you are going to Valentine’s Day is the time.

We all know and love Amazon, as well as waiting until the last minute. Luckily these things go hand in hand with gift giving. If you just realized Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, then take advantage of your resources. Getting a gift shipped is convenient. It also broadens your choices. You can find something curated to your partner’s tastes or you can buy a more typical cheesy Valentine’s gift. The point is that you can get whatever, and with ease.
4: The Classics
Every store from here to the other side of the world is going to be taking the Valentines Day theme and running with it. Whether it’s the Dollar General, Walmart, Value Market, or wherever else. You are going to find the classics; chocolate, flowers, cards, stuffed animals, etc. If it’s not broken don’t fix it. If you want to get more personal with it, then you can even buy the supplies to make a card. At the end of the day, it’s the thought and effort that counts.
