Citizen One is growing, and we need more Student Reporters!
If you’re a CHS student in grades 9-12, you can sign up and be a part of this new program. Here’s what’s in it for you:
– Create your own stories, and publish them under your own byline.
– Get your own author showcase page.
– Citizen One Reporter credentials for press access to news events.
– Professional journalism training
– Learn to write, shoot video and photos, edit, report, and livestream news.
– Free Citizen One Mobile Journalist Kit, with a t-shirt, stickers, pen, notebook, and more.
– Eligibility for a $1,000 scholarship.
– Class credit for participation in a Service Learning project (1/2 credit per semester, full credit for Summer)
All we ask is for you to attend bi-weekly Rundown meetings with your Bureau Chief, and help us keep local citizens informed by publishing an assigned story, and contributing your own stories once a week. These can be any kind of story, from written text to video to photo essays, presentations, podcasts, livestreams – any digital media format.
